I am Andy Nwokolo, an experienced English Language instructor with 12 years of teaching experience in the areas of phonetics, English grammar (syntax), writing, Literature, and comprehension.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in English and Literary Studies, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, both of which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to create an engaging and effective learning environment for my learners. I am also a TEFL-certified teacher.
I am proficient in Jolly Phonics, which enables pupils from ages 4-7 to effectively pronounce letters and words easily. I also prepare students in senior secondary school for WAEC, SAT and GCSE examinations.
My teaching approach is usually tailored to the needs of my learners because I know learners have varying learning difficulties. I usually adopt the learning approach that suits my learners. I usually prepare slides and use them during my analysis. I usually conclude my classes with a class exercise before a take-home assignment or homework. A video presentation can be included to further buttress or emphasise an earlier stated point. The content of my lesson is usually rich because it covers pivotal parts of the topic such as: definition, types and examples of the said topic of discussion. I also employ the use of songs for the purpose of retention for those in lower primary and nursery pupils; this makes the lesson fun.
