I first taught English at Living it Cafe here in Gaziantep, where I learnt useful methods of how to teach properly - from showing videos followed by explanations, practicing listening, explaining the grammar in a serious way to letting the students practice their speaking and correcting them if necessary. I did both solo and group lessons so I can adjust to each student and their way of learning. I also discovered games where the students engage with the language in a fun way can enhance their progress significantly so I also use apps for that if I teach online, but also create games on site and prepare them in advance if necessary. I mostly teach English and Spanish by speaking them in all my classes, but I can also explain in Turkish as I am also taking Turkish lessons so I can explain myself better when students need it.
I taught English to businessmen, but also to high school and university students. I can also teach it to children, games catching their attention quite fast. Movies can be an interesting way also of learning passively, this activity being beneficial for all ages.
I taught Spanish to children and travelers but I can also adjust depending on the students' requirements.
I use textbooks for grammar tips and also to gather the useful information, dictionaries and official legit websites (like British Council, Cambridge Dictionary or dictionaries depending on the type of English I teach. For Spanish I use Real Academia Española) to inform myself in case I have doubts or receive tricky questions from students. I use Canva Pro and Windows package to create the lessons and Kahoot for games. I use youtube for videos (good for listening and correcting the accents).
