I am a mindfulness-based English teacher from Turkey. I support adult learners in improving their speaking skills.

My name is Beliz Begüm Yılmaz. I am 38 years old, and I began my English education at an early age. I completed my high school education in the United States, at Glenwood High School in Illinois. This experience provided the strongest foundation for using English at a near-native level and allowed me to develop my communication skills while being immersed in different cultures. My international education journey gave me not only solid academic knowledge but also valuable competencies such as disciplined work habits, flexible thinking, quick adaptation, and the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. This period contributed greatly to both my personal and professional growth, and it is one of the main reasons why I am passionate about teaching English today. After returning to Türkiye, I continued my career in the field of corporate communications. I took active roles in internal communication, content creation, event management, and strategic messaging. These experiences further strengthened my ability to communicate effectively with both adults and younger audiences. They also taught me, in practice, how essential clear, fluent, and goal-oriented communication is. In the following years, I developed a strong interest in international education and personal development. I participated in mindfulness and awareness-based training programs and later worked as an assistant in these trainings, which allowed me to deepen my teaching and guidance skills. Mindfulness has become an important part of my teaching approach, because I believe that students’ sense of safety, comfort, and support directly influences their learning success. Today, I provide a learning environment that is focused on speaking practice—relaxed, encouraging, and connected to real daily life. I especially aim to support beginner and intermediate learners in building confidence. In my lessons, I emphasize pronunciation improvement, fluency development, vocabulary expansion, and feeling comfortable in everyday conversations. I have experience teaching both children and adults. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s level, needs, and learning pace.
