My teaching approach is grounded in my training at Bogaziçi University’s Foreign Language Education Department (FLED) and my internship experience at Bogaziçi University School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK). Through my coursework and practicum, I have developed a strong understanding of Second Language Acquisition, learner needs, and effective classroom practices, which I now apply to my remote teaching.
I design my lessons with a student-centered and exam-oriented perspective, particularly for YDT preparation. Each lesson begins with a brief diagnostic check to identify strengths and areas for improvement. I then combine clear, concept-based explanations with plenty of exam-style examples, ensuring that students not only understand the rules but also know how to apply them in real test contexts. My classes balance reading, grammar, vocabulary, and test strategies, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and accuracy.
Drawing on my YADYOK internship, I prioritize interactive learning, encouraging students to ask questions, reflect on their mistakes, and actively engage with the material. I use structured practice, spaced repetition, and targeted homework to reinforce learning over time. Regular feedback is a core part of my teaching, as I believe that individualized guidance helps students build confidence and autonomy. Overall, my goal is to create a supportive, disciplined, and motivating learning environment where students can steadily improve and succeed in the university entrance exam.
