At first glance, my background in engineering and systems modeling might look unconventional for an English teacher, but I have found that this technical foundation makes me a uniquely effective educator. To me, language is a system—much like the Simulink and control systems I have studied. I don't just teach students to memorize words; I use my analytical training to help them understand the logic and structure behind the language, which is especially valuable for students aiming to work in technical or corporate fields. My approach is deeply practical. I treat every student's learning journey like a project. Using the Product Discovery and SWOT analysis methods I learned during my certification, I assess where a student struggles and build a structured plan to get them to fluency. However, I know that logic isn't enough—learning a new language can be intimidating. This is where my training with Yale and UC Davis in Managing Emotions and Critical Thinking comes into play. These courses have helped me develop the patience and emotional intelligence to create a classroom where students feel safe to make mistakes and grow. Whether I am helping a student polish a resume using my recruitment training or explaining complex grammar, my goal is to equip them with the confidence to succeed in the real world.
