I am a Geography graduate and am currently pursuing an Honours degree in Development Studies. Alongside my academic journey, I am a TEFL-certified English teacher with classroom teaching experience in Chengdu, China, and over two years of online teaching experience.
Teaching has given me the opportunity to work with students from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds, allowing me to develop a flexible and student-focused teaching style. I believe that every learner is unique, so I tailor my lessons to suit individual goals, learning preferences, and proficiency levels. Whether you want to improve your conversational English, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, or prepare for work, travel, or exams, I create lessons that are engaging, practical, and enjoyable.
One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing my students become more confident in expressing themselves in English. I encourage active participation and create a supportive environment where making mistakes is seen as a natural part of learning.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling, discovering new cultures, and learning languages. I speak and understand five of South Africa's eleven official languages, which has strengthened my appreciation for language learning and effective communication. My goal is to help every student feel confident, motivated, and capable of achieving their language goals while enjoying the learning journey.
I also believe that learning should be enjoyable and meaningful. I strive to build positive relationships with my students, celebrate their progress, and create lessons that are both interactive and relevant to their everyday lives. My aim is to inspire lifelong confidence in using English.
