Selin Kilinc

I’m Selin, a Neuroscience student at University College London with several years of teaching experience across diverse subjects and levels. My journey as a tutor started during high school, and since then, I’ve taught through platforms like Preply and MILLIE Tutoring Services, helping students with English exam preparation, academic writing, speaking skills, and even LGS test prep in Türkiye.

I’m deeply passionate about connecting learning with real-life contexts, because I believe language isn’t just grammar—it’s how we communicate our ideas, emotions, and dreams. My teaching style is student-centered and highly interactive. I adapt each lesson to my students’ goals, interests, and learning styles. For example, I integrate role-playing for conversation practice, debates for critical thinking, and creative writing tasks to build fluency and confidence.

For students preparing for exams, I focus on test strategies, time management, and targeted practice, ensuring they feel fully equipped and confident. For those seeking general improvement, I design lessons around engaging topics like science, culture, travel, or even neuromarketing—drawing on my own diverse interests and background.

In addition to my teaching, I’ve conducted neuroscience research, worked in neuromarketing, and run a content-based food and travel blog. These experiences have honed my skills in communication, organization, and creative problem-solving, all of which I bring into my lessons.
