Hello! I’m Leverne, a South African English teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in South Africa and Turkey. I hold a qualification in Preschool Education, and my experience includes online English teaching, early childhood education and curriculum development. I enjoy helping learners feel confident, capable and excited about using English.
My lessons are personalised to your level, interests and goals. Whether you are beginning your English journey, strengthening your schoolwork or becoming more comfortable in everyday conversations, I create lessons that give you clear guidance and plenty of opportunities to practise.
Depending on your needs, we work on speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing. I combine structured learning with engaging conversations, stories, visual resources and interactive activities. For younger learners, I incorporate songs, movement and playful learning to encourage participation and understanding. For learners who enjoy discussion, I use interesting topics, practical expressions and everyday situations to make English relevant.
My teaching style is warm, patient and encouraging. I explain concepts clearly, offer constructive feedback and help you practise new skills step by step. Mistakes are a natural part of learning, and my lessons provide a supportive space to ask questions and try again.
Having lived and taught in Turkey, I understand many of the challenges Turkish learners encounter when learning English. I also speak intermediate Turkish, which can help clarify unfamiliar ideas when needed.
Above all, I want students to leave each lesson feeling that they have learned something useful and made progress. Together, we can build a strong foundation and greater confidence in English, one lesson at a time.
